“To say good things come in threes would be trite, clichéd and lazy writing but nigh on impossible to escape with news this big. The third month of this year is shaping up to be by far the best as Safe Hands, Have/Hold and Sail On! Sail On! hit the road together to bring a three-fold wave of feelings up and down the eastern third of this wide brown land.
Sail On! Sail On! are prime evidence of Perth’s musical fertility. Their brand of wrought, cascading, end-of-the-world post punk turning heads and opening up pits on the far side of the Nullarboor since they came into being a few short years ago. Debut album You Are Not You came out less than a month ago and already it’s seen demand for the band to head east intensify. As such, they’re on the way, stacked into a van and ready to trade vinyl for vegan snacks!
With long awaited, second full length Tie Your Soul To Mine out via Lost Boy Records, Newcastle heavyweights Safe Hands are at the absolute top of their game. Acclaim hasn’t stopped pouring in; their efforts long-listed for the Australian Music Prize and the boys having lain low for a spell leading up to the release the band is refreshed and their live show is as tempestuous and fervent as ever as Not Fest 2016 crowds will attest.
Have/Hold weathered the socio-political shit-storm that was 2016 holed away in various studios writing material for a follow up to King Salt and touring extensively in their own right as well as with the likes of We Lost The Sea. They have a dramatic and engrossing single and film clip ready to drop any day now and a swathe of new material to road test. What better way to do so than to pile in the van and head cross-country?!
Every show will see its headliner decided by coin-toss on the day with live streaming on Facebook to keep the world abreast. Catch the three-peat, triple-header tour to end all tours…”
