“Moving at their typical lightning fast glacial speeds, tri-state grinders Captain Cleanoff are finally back…….and with a new album titled “Rising Terror”. Although it seems like Cleanoff have been quiet over the last few years we can report that while the new album has indeed been a long time coming the band have been moving slowly towards this exact moment. In fact since the release of 2008’s grindcore classic “Symphonies of Slackness”, Cleanoff have toured Europe twice including spots at festivals like OEF and Hellfest, toured the USA including a slot at the Maryland Deathfest and also taken on a South East Asian tour.During this time of supposed inactivity the band also managed to release two split 7″s, one with Melbourne’s The Kill and the other with War of the Second Dragon, a side-project of Napalm Death bass player Shane Embury. After starting the new record back at the tail end of 2011, now, only a short 4 years later, the new full length album Rising Terror has seen the light of day. We are currently waiting for Guinness to confirm that Captain Cleanoff is the “Slowest moving fast band in Australia”! Rising Terror features a killer production that was captured at studios like Goatsound and Toyland and was mixed and mastered by Scott Hull of Pig Destroyer fame.
Captain Cleanoff will be hitting the road throughout October, November and December in support of the new album. With a stripped back four piece line-up that includes Kevin “mad-dog” McClaer of legendary Sydney punk band Massappeal on bass, and a selection of some of the best underground extreme acts in Australia at the moment, you can be assured that these shows promise more than a sloth fight! Grab the album and come to a show!”
