Funeral Moon (S.A) / Hordes Of The Black Cross (Vic) / Divide And Dissolve (Vic) / Thorax / Oily Boys / 01.04.17

Saturday 1st April // 6PM // All-Ages

“From death to death. From nil to naught. From chasm to the abyss. From exodus into darkness. Through the chambers of unlit to the twisted depths of flesh corruption, we urge all heathens and acts of heresy to come forth!

Making a pact of formlessness and nothingness, Hordes of the Black Cross(MELB) and Funeral Moon (ADEL) are now armed with a split album that will reign the beginning of a new darkenss in Australian black metal.

From the shadows of the Australian black metal underground come these two primal forces of unbinding fire. Arising from the same grimy DIY culture that froths a nihilistic worldview and a universal art/life practice, Hordes Of The Black Cross and Funeral Moon recognized the other as kindred spirits united to devastate a scene intent on imitation and insincerity. Yet neither forget the old gods and masters of black metal, as they forge their own path of twisted destruction.

The legendary home of Sydney’s DIY punk underground, Black Wire Records, are hosting the best: Thorax, Oily Boys and Divide and Dissolve.”

Sunday 26th March // 2:30pm // *SOLD OUT*

Totally Unicorn has been slaying since 2010 with resident wino Michael Bennett at the drum kit. To celebrate his success and many, many failures we’re putting on a cheap as shit show at our home, The Black Wire Records with friends:
SORCERY

Safe Hands / Sail On! Sail On! (W.A) / Have/Hold (Vic) / Recovery Room / 24.03.17

SAFEHANDS-SAILONSAILON-HAVEHOLD-RECROOM-24.3.17

Friday 24th March // 7pm // All-Ages

“To say good things come in threes would be trite, clichéd and lazy writing but nigh on impossible to escape with news this big. The third month of this year is shaping up to be by far the best as Safe Hands, Have/Hold and Sail On! Sail On! hit the road together to bring a three-fold wave of feelings up and down the eastern third of this wide brown land.

Sail On! Sail On! are prime evidence of Perth’s musical fertility. Their brand of wrought, cascading, end-of-the-world post punk turning heads and opening up pits on the far side of the Nullarboor since they came into being a few short years ago. Debut album You Are Not You came out less than a month ago and already it’s seen demand for the band to head east intensify. As such, they’re on the way, stacked into a van and ready to trade vinyl for vegan snacks!

With long awaited, second full length Tie Your Soul To Mine out via Lost Boy Records, Newcastle heavyweights Safe Hands are at the absolute top of their game. Acclaim hasn’t stopped pouring in; their efforts long-listed for the Australian Music Prize and the boys having lain low for a spell leading up to the release the band is refreshed and their live show is as tempestuous and fervent as ever as Not Fest 2016 crowds will attest.

Have/Hold weathered the socio-political shit-storm that was 2016 holed away in various studios writing material for a follow up to King Salt and touring extensively in their own right as well as with the likes of We Lost The Sea. They have a dramatic and engrossing single and film clip ready to drop any day now and a swathe of new material to road test. What better way to do so than to pile in the van and head cross-country?!

Every show will see its headliner decided by coin-toss on the day with live streaming on Facebook to keep the world abreast. Catch the three-peat, triple-header tour to end all tours…”
