SCUL-HAZZARDs-25.7.14

Friday 25th July // 7pm // All-ages

International men & women of inactivity (well, they’ve no doubt been doing things…just not this thing) grace us again with their very welcome presence.

“…an abundance of intricate subtleties, referencing both the post-punk and no-wave without getting tied down in nostalgia or trend. It’s personal and visceral, and blatantly world class.”

ERRANT // “…first show. two drummers. bass player from Narrow Lands. That’s all I know!”

HALT-EVER-19.7.14

Saturday 19th July // 7pm // All-ages

Melbourne Punk/Shoegaze – Launching their new 10″ ‘Body Limits’.

“Straight out of Melbourne’s south-east, Halt Ever have nothing better to do than to make you stare at your shoes, pulling influences from The Jesus and Mary Chain and Guided By Voices, they have a very full sound and songwriting to back it up. Sharing members with the sonic annihilation duo; NERVE, the guys have been playing around Melbourne for the past couple years and have a few cassette releases under their belt which have a nice bedroom sound to them, definitely a band to keep an eye on.”

Death Mountain
Sing songy riff-math from members of Lungs, Collapso, Animal Shapes, Staying at Home, The Reason and who even knows what else. Their debut record ‘Volcanic Panic’ will be out later this year, there’s a song from it on their soundcloud, chuck a listen:

Damage-Zone-5.7.14

Saturday 5th July // 5pm // All-ages

7″ launch! First show! Potentially only show?! Massappeal worship! Guest vocals from Randy Massappeal! Other bands! Sick one!

“Damage Zone are the latest band to emerge from the ‘New Wave of Sydney Thrash’. Taking their name and much inspiration from Sydney legends Massappeal, Damage Zone are equal parts thrash, power violence and punk rock.

Damage Zone began life as a side project for a number of Sydney’s long term contributors to the Punk / Hardcore / Thrash scene (Subversion, Disintegrator, Hostile Objects, Michael Crafter etc.).

Their initial output is a 7 song ’7″ Cold Dead Hands’ EP, being released on Inner City Uprising Records on 5th July 2014. All songs written and recorded in a boozy 8 hour session on 31st August 2013. D.Z contains music influences such as Massappeal, Citizens Arrest, DRI etc with a socio-political lyrical content.”

Sinking-Teeth-28.6.14

Saturday 28th June // 7pm // All-ages

“Apparently you can’t build a tour out of muffins, but Melbourne post-punk loons The Sinking Teeth are out to prove otherwise on a ten date, five state tour this June/July. The tour will celebrate the release of their new single ‘You Can’t Build A Bike Out Of Muffins’, which will be released in coming weeks. The track is the first single from their second EP Salt & Stitches which will be launched on the final date of the tour at The Workers Club in Melbourne on July 26.
In between being naked on stage supporting Calling All Cars and taking promo jobs dressed as Freddo Frog to pay for studio time, The Sinking Teeth have spent the last six months chipping away at writing and recording Salt & Stitches, a follow up to White Water which was released in October of last year.
The Sinking Teeth have been incessantly touring for the past year, earning their stripes by playing alongside some of the country’s most exciting acts including Violent Soho, Bodyjar, The Love Junkies, Bad//Dreems, Calling All Cars and Luca Brasi.
Noted for their electric live show and named one of Blunt Magazine’s ‘Bands to Watch in 2014′, TheSinking Teeth may not be able to build a bike out of muffins, but they sure can play.”

“If there is any one act set to explode in popularity this year, The Sinking Teeth would be the sure bet.” - What Sound Melbourne

“The Sinking Teeth are a band to keep an eye on.” - News Unlimited

“There’s a certain tingle of excitement that comes with the discovery of a good new punk band. Perhaps it’s the thrill of finding a new source of angst to sink your teeth into.” - The Music
